Men have always been fascinated with airplanes, and airplanes have come a long way since the Wright brothers took to the skies back in December 17th, 1903. Airplanes have certainly made our world smaller. What used to take weeks and months to reach can now be done within hours. Jets are a great way to get from one appointment to the next, and time is worth more than money. But why just travel in any jet when one can do so in elegant comfort and style.
The Bombardier Global 5500 is a stunning aircraft with an awesome wide cabin (largest in its class) that has been fitted with luxuries; aimed at providing plush comforts up in the skies. It is designed to provide not just living comforts but also flight comfort. The Global 5500 offers one of the smoothest rides thanks to its newly designed wing with fully re-profiled trailing edge that combines flexibility and refined aerodynamics.

Having the largest cabin in its class the Global 5500 comes with three distinct living spaces. They are the Club Suite of which is a great place to get some work done at or to just sit back and relax, the Conference Suite that is a versatile space that sits up to six, and the Private Suite which is tucked away at the quietest area of the plane.
Largest cabin in its class – luxurious cabin that offers lots of space.
The Private Suite comes well insulated with sound insulating partitions and well placed insulators offering a quiet, tranquil, and comfortable haven to rest at. The Private Suite comes with an adjoining En Suite that has a large wardrobe. Flying from one meeting to another no matter how long the journey, will certainly not be an issue as one can arrive refreshed and rejuvenated; ready to take on whatever that is to come.
The Global 5500 comes with the Nuage chaise and patented Nuage seats that redefines comfort with versatility offering a unique deep recline feature. Bombardier’s Nuage chaise is a seat that follows the curve of the body of the person sitting on the chair. It is also currently the only lounge chair in business aviation that converts into a flat surface for sleeping or banquet-style dining at the conference table.
Fresh Clean Air
Air in an aircraft certainly is very important. What I meant is fresh air. The Global 5500 comes equipped with Bombardier Pũr Air that features an advanced HEPA filter. It captures up to 99.99% of allergens, bacteria, and viruses. Activated carbon filter2 removes volatile organic compounds, odors, and gases. Bombardier Pũr Air completely replaces cabin air with 100% fresh air in as little as 90 seconds.

Another issue with aircraft cabin air is the humidity. One of the reasons why skin rehydration products sell well with frequent flyers could be attributed to aircraft cabin air. The air in an aircraft’s cabin is dry. The Bombardier Pũr Air filtered air recirculation feature preserves cabin humidity promoting respiratory comforts, reduced nasal discomforts, and improves dermatological health due to moisture retention.
Comfortable and stylish dining.
The ability to cool and warm an aircraft’s cabin in the shortest time possible is important. An efficient cooling and heating system will certainly be good as doing so provides greater comfort levels. The Bombardier Pũr Air heats and cools the cabin twice as fast comparing to aircrafts that uses a 100% fresh air only system.
Quality Entertainment In The Air
Entertainment and connectivity takes the stress off flying. News, sports, music, online meetings, etc. are part and parcel of our everyday lives. The Global 5500 is the first to have the 4K-enabled cabin that uses Bombardier’s Ka-band technology. It provides ultra-fast and reliable in-flight connectivity, and intuitive cabin management system that is supported by a fiber optic backbone offering 4K ultra-high definition entertainment experiences within reach.
The Private Suite – a personal retreat.
Bombardier’s Ka-band technology offers the fastest internet connectivity in the industry. Ka-band offers coverage in most countries, unparalleled reliability, unparalleled streaming, and hyper-fast connectivity speeds that is said to be up to 35 times faster than other aviation internet systems using the latest satellite technology.
Fuel Efficient Powerhouse
The Global 5500 comes equipped with Rolls-Royce’s brand new Pearl engine that is purpose-built for the Global 5500 aircraft offering top speeds of M 0.90. The Rolls-Royce Pearl engine is the industry’s most advanced engine core that enhances aerodynamics allowing the Global 5500 aircraft to fly further, faster, and quieter. Together with the Global 5500’s refined aerodynamic design, the aircraft can reach up to 5,900 nm (nautical miles).

Clear Vision Flight Deck
The view on the flight deck is important and the Global 5500’s state-of-the-art Bombardier Vision flight deck combines a comprehensive avionics suite with refined aesthetics providing Bombardier Global 5500 pilots with an exceptional flying experience every time they are at the cockpit.
A luxurious well designed cockpit with good view.
The Global 5500’s industry leading cockpit is the first in aviation to offer a true Combined Vision System (CVS) that seamlessly merges Synthetic Vision System (SVS) and Enhanced Vision System (EVS) in a single view. This reduces the crew’s workload and provides unmatched situational awareness with the clearest of view through any weather.
The system provides precise de-cluttering of the runway and approach lighting areas allowing the crew to make optimal decisions. There is no more need to manually adjust the EVS/SVS split with weather changes, visibility, or flight conditions.
Bombardier jets are known for their versatility and the Global 5500 certainly delivers. It not only flies further, faster, and offers a smoother ride; it can land in airports that many aircrafts within its category cannot. One of the reasons for this is that the Global 5500 requires less runway for landing thanks to its wing design. It only needs a landing distance of about 2,207 ft (900 feet shorter than its closest rival).
An Awesome Aircraft
The Bombardier Global 5500 is a rather new aircraft in the market. It received FAA certification back in December 2019. As at time of writing there are only 4 Bombardier Global 5500 aircrafts flying. With its impressive range, good performance, versatility, efficiency, luxurious and innovative interior, 4K-enabled cabin, etc.; the Global 5500 is certainly a fantastic aircraft for the jet setting business executive.
