In James Bond, The Living Daylights (1987); Timothy Dalton who played James Bond wore a TAG Heuer or Heuer watch as he leaped onto a moving vehicle, knocked out villains, and wined beautiful women. That watch is said to most likely be a TAG Heuer or the Tag Heuer Professional Night Diver.

The Hero Piece
In April 2021, TAG Heuer launched the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 with eight models. Recently TAG Heuer added three more models bringing the total to eleven models. Of the eleven, one stands out -the hero piece. The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Tribute to Ref. 844 (Heuer 844); pays tribute to the all-black, lume-dialled TAG Heuer icon Ref. 844 divers’ watch introduced in 1978.

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Tribute to Ref. 844 comes with a stainless-steel case, bezel, crown, caseback, and clasp; all coated in matt black diamond-like carbon, known as DLC. The use of DLC; a high performance, hard wearing finish, protects the watch in extreme conditions. The bezel inserts are highly resistant black ceramic.

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Night Diver comes with a stainless-steel case, bezel, a screw-down crown, water resistance to at least 200 metres, luminous markings, a scratch-resistant crystal, and a double safety clasp.

Why Call It The Night Diver?
Night diving is associated with darkness. Not the normal darkness we experience when we turn the lights off in a room at night. Underwater, darkness is more pronounced. The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Night Diver’s signature feature is its fully luminescent dial that is coated in green Super-LumiNova® that lights up with exceptional glow even in extreme darkness.
Fully luminescent dial makes it easy to tell the time in very dark places.
Both the minute and central seconds hands are filled with blue lume that contrasts them from the green dial. The hour hand and hour markers (12, 3, 6, and 9) are filled with green lume. The other hour markers are all edged with black lacquer.
The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Night Diver’s unidirectional rotating twelve sided bezel comes with a triangle that is filled with blue lume at 12. This is crucial to accurately and safely measure dive times. The twelve sides of the bezel are all faceted for grip. The flat sapphire crystal is treated with double anti-reflective treatment, and comes with a magnifying glass that is smooth to the touch, over the date.

All TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 watches are powered by TAG Heuers’s Calibre 5 automatic movement. At the back of the watch is a solid caseback that is stamped with the famous scaphander diving suit, a 12-sided faceplate, and engraving –Swiss Made Since 1860, the Aquaracer name, TAG Heuer brand, and 300 metres. All TAG Heuer Aquarace Professional 300 models are water resistance to 300 metres or 1000 feet.
